Controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has slammed the general outcry that followed his biting of Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic as being "all out of proportion".
Just under two months after the incident, where Suarez appeared to bite Ivanovic’s arm during a Premier League clash at Anfield, the forward has admitted full responsibility, saying Ivanovic "had nothing to do with it".
While the footballing community in general stood up to condemn Suarez, an apology back then had been relatively quick, with Liverpool and the player issuing a statement on their site.
Suarez was subsequently slapped with a 10-match ban, but that has not stopped rumours about a move to Real Madrid in the summer.

However, quoted by Voetbal International, Suarez said of the incident and its fallout: "My apologies. But the responses I got then, who were out of all proportion."
It is the latter statement that has been key to much of the speculation around Suarez’s future, with him having already blamed the English press for unfair treatment.
The revelation had further stirred the transfer talk, and he has since also admitted a desire to play alongside Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is not the first time Suarez has been in a controversy, of course, with his ban for using racist language against Manchester United’s Patrice Evra adding to the accusations of persistent diving.
However, the Uruguayan was focused on the Ivanovic incident, and even blamed an unfair penalty decision against Liverpool as the catalyst.
"I was just angry that just before there was a penalty given away", he said. "I cannot explain or condone [my actions].
"I was just completely lost. It was purely my fault. [Ivanovic] had nothing to do with it."
