Chelsea’s capture of talented Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel is not yet a foregone conclusion, his agent has insisted, with several other clubs tracking the Vitesse star.
The Blues’ close relationship with Vitesse has given them an edge and a bid of €8.5m has seemed to be enough for Van Ginkel to continue his footballing education at Stamford Bridge.
Ajax want the 20-year-old and submitted a €7m bid, but that was rejected, with Vitesse unwilling to consider selling the midfielder to domestic rivals.
But that does not mean Van Ginkel to Chelsea is done and dusted, says the player’s agent Karel Jansen.

"That [saying a deal is done] is premature", he told Voetbal Primeur.
"Everything has been written. There is interest, that’s right, but it’s still a matter between Vitesse and Chelsea. For us at least, it is not a foregone conclusion that Marco leaves for Chelsea."
And other clubs are keen too, insists Jansen.
"Chelsea are not the only club, there are more clubs from abroad who are interested.
"Have they told Vitesse? I don’t know.
"But before the end of the European Under-21 Championship nothing will happen anyway."
