Hannover 96 goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler has publicly aired his desire to play in the English Premier League, with the dream of "playing for one of the big clubs" his long-term objective.
Zieler is not new to life in England at all, with him having spent three years with Manchester United’s youth ranks. But after a mediocre two-year stint with the Red Devils’ senior team soon after, making not a single start for the club’s senior starting eleven, the German custodian was snapped up by Bundesliga side Hannover in 2010 and has been there since.
During the 2011/12 as well as the 2012/13 campaigns, Zieler became first-choice keeper at the AWD-Arena, keeping a total 15 clean sheets in his 68 appearances for the club during those two years.
But Zieler believes he is now ready to take his game to a higher level, telling German daily Bild, "I have already spent some time in the past in England and I also speak the language fluently.

"People over there are totally tuned into football and I can certainly imagine myself playing for an [English] club in the future.
"Of course, I dream of playing for one of the big clubs in England at some point in my career", Zieler concluded.
Zieler’s statements will surely put Liverpool on high alert, with the Anfield outfit strongly tipped to make a swoop for Zieler at any time during the transfer window.
