Chelsea have joined the race for Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, while Manchester City are also taking more than a passing interest in the Montenegrin, according to Sky Italia.
Jovetic’s future is rapidly becoming one of the unfolding sagas of the summer transfer window, with English Premier League giants Arsenal and Italian champions Juventus having made all the running thus far, although Real Madrid recently waded into the reckoning.
But now two more English clubs have become involved, with an agent close to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich having lunch with Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade yesterday to announce interest from the Blues.
Manchester City meanwhile are also paying close attention to the situation in Italy and could themselves choose to follow Chelsea’s lead and become very firmly involved.

Fiorentina are starting to feel the pressure over selling Jovetic.
The player has indicated his desire to move to a bigger club and Fiorentina have lined up Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez as a replacement.
However, the longer La Viola wait to sell Jovetic, with an asking price of €30m being stubbornly stuck to at present, the more they risk losing Gomez to a competitor.
