Israeli manager Avram Grant has warned newly-appointed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho he should hand the London giants nothing but flawless victories lest he will soon become "The Disappointing One".

Grant should know all about the pressure cooker that is Chelsea – the Israeli served as the club’s manager during the 2007/08 campaign, replacing none other than Mourinho himself.

"I was hoping you would ask about Mourinho", Grant told Spanish daily AS in an interview.

"I don’t know if he will still be called The Special One, The Happy One or The Disappointing One [at the end of the season]. What I do know is that there will be pressure on him because Chelsea will press for their club to win.

"[Chelsea owner Roman] Abramovich will not spend all that money for you not to compete for things. That in itself needs a great coach and well see how [Mourinho] does", Grant concluded.

Mourinho was announced as the new Chelsea boss last week, marking the Portuguese’s return with the English side since he last served at Stamford Bridge from 2004 to 2007, where he won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup once and the League Cup twice.

He moved to Italian giants Inter in 2008, winning a remarkable treble for the club in 2010, before leaving to boss Real Madrid.

Mourinho parted ways with Los Blancos earlier this month, having led the club to one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey and one Spanish Super Cup.
