La Liga side Malaga have announced that German coach Bernd Schuster has been named as the new manager of the club.

The former Real Madrid manager has penned a five-year contract at La Rosaleda.

Schuster becomes the successor to Manuel Pellegrini, who made his exit from the club at the end of the 2012/13 season. The Chilean tactician is poised to take helm of English Premier League side Manchester City this summer.

Schuster – who has also managed Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk and Turkish side Besiktas as well – guided Los Blancos to a La Liga title in 2007/08.
