With Malaga banned from next year’s Europa League, La Liga giants Real Madrid are cooking up a swoop for Los Boquerones’ inventive playmaker Isco, with the chance of playing Champions League football the bulk of their sales talk.
Isco, 21, has been a revelation at La Rosaleda, scoring twelve goals in his 46 games for Malaga last season, helping them reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, when they came close to pulling off an upset against eventual finalists Borussia Dortmund.
Such a talent may well have made quite an impression on Real Madrid sporting director Zinedine Zidane, who is believed to have told club supremo Florentino Perez that Isco should be made a "priority" signing, according to Spanish radio Cadena SER.
Isco, for his part, is disappointed for Malaga to miss European football come next season, blasting UEFA’s decision to uphold their imposed ban on the club for failing to meet their financial obligations upon appeal as "completely unfair".
