Klaus Allofs, the sporting director of Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, has insisted that the club are not keen on transfer speculation surrounding attacking midfielder Diego, as they are clear on his future with the club.

The 28-year-old Brazilian has a contract with the Wolves until next summer, but he has been linked with other clubs, which include 2013 Copa del Rey winners Atletico Madrid.

"For us, the issue of Diego does not arise as long as we have a clear idea about what to do with him”, Allofs told the Wolfsburger Allgemeine.

"If the situation changes, we will deal with it. That does not mean that we necessarily say yes or no [to any offer]. It depends on the entire state of the squad."

Diego, who started his youth career with Brazilian side Santos, arrived at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg in August 2010, for a fee of €15.5m, from Serie A giants Juventus.

The former FC Porto and Juventus schemer joined Atletico Madrid on a season-long deal in 2011, and also lifted the 2011/12 Europa League trophy with the Mattress Makers.

Diego clocked up 37 appearances in the 2012/13 season with Wolfsburg, scoring 13 times, and assisting nine times.

The Wolves finished 11th in the Bundesliga this term.
