Bayer Leverkusen new boy Son Heung-Min has revealed that the opportunity to play in the Champions League was the reason he opted to join the club.
Leverkusen announced the signing of Son on Thursday, tying the South Korean international to a five-year deal which will see him at the BayArena until 2018.
In his time with fellow Bundesliga side Hamburg last season, Son scored 12 goals in 34 appearances overall, this with the player being just 20 years old.
Many English clubs tried to chase the bags of potential Son has to offer, with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur credited with interest, but the 20-year-old chose to sign with Leverkusen.

"Champions League participation [made the deal] very interesting for me", he told German daily Bild.
"In addition, Leverkusen already have many players, like Andre Schurrle, who have made breakthroughs through their club", the South Korean added.
Son has a total of 15 caps for South Korea under his belt, scoring two goals along the way.
