New Monaco striker Radamel Falcao is looking forward to welcoming more top players to the Stade Louis II over the coming weeks.

Falcao is just one of a clutch of big money buys the principality side have made since the season ended and they secured promotion into next season’s Ligue 1.

Joining Falcao are Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez, bought from FC Porto, and veteran Portuguese centre-back Ricardo Carvalho, freshly arrived from Real Madrid.

And Falcao expects more new faces.

"The project that the club have begun is based on a long-term vision", he told Antena 3.

"We want to play at the highest level and you need good players to do that.

"I look forward to welcoming more in the coming weeks."

Falcao himself has transferred from Atletico Madrid to Monaco, having won the Copa del Rey with Diego Simeone’s men last season.
