Liverpool great Robbie Fowler has insisted that appointing defender Daniel Agger as the vice-captain of the club would not be a bad choice.
The Reds are without a vice-captain at the moment following the retirement of veteran defender Jamie Carragher, who used to hold the position.
The club’s official site conducted a poll to get the views from the fans about their choice of the next vice-captain. While Spanish custodian Pepe Reina, midfielder Lucas Leiva, as well as Uruguayan hotshot Luis Suarez secured a lot of votes, a whopping 63% went in favour of Denmark international Agger.
Fowler also agreed with the choice of the supporters, and he has tipped the 28-year-old to take on the role.

“There are a few players that we could opt for", the former goal-poacher said.
"I know the website has recently done a vote and I think they have all voted for Daniel Agger. It probably makes sense, to be honest, so I’d probably opt for him. He’s a great player.
"When I re-signed, he actually signed the day before me. I would say that would probably not be a bad choice."
Agger arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2006, and has clocked up 209 appearances for the Reds, over the seven seasons, and has scored 12 times.
He has also lifted the FA Cup and the League Cup with the club.
