Ernesto Bronzetti, a close adviser to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, has explained that he has "no knowledge" that the club’s Argentine attacker Gonzalo Higuain could soon make a move to London giants Arsenal.

Higuain, 25, has been a hot commodity in recent months for his highly-publicised imminent move to back-to-back Serie A champions Juventus, with Bronzetti saying that the deal is already "70% done".

But Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are intent on hijacking the switch by sounding their interest for the centre-forward, following confirmation from club supremo Ivan Gazidis that the Emirates Stadium outfit have the "financial firepower" to "do more than spend big".

Higuain, for his part, has already aired his intention to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, following falling behind Karim Benzema in the striking pecking order at Los Blancos.

"Will Higuain go to Arsenal? Not to my knowledge", Bronzetti told Tutto Mercato, as speculated mounted about the Argentine heading to the Gunners.

"Besides, the Higuain situation won’t be definite until there is a new head coach, which could be Carlo Ancelotti. Until then, nothing is definitive", the adviser added.

Saving the best for last, Bronzetti dropped a big hint that Juventus and Arsenal are not alone in the race for Higuain, saying, "I can only say this about Higuain – there are five to six teams chasing him, not just Juventus and Arsenal."

Higuain has a contract with Real Madrid until 2016.
