Record Newcastle United goalscorer Alan Shearer believes that it will be difficult for manager Alan Pardew to work under newly appointed director of football Joe Kinnear.
The Magpies appointed the former club interim manager as the new director of football on a three-year deal this week.
Shearer, who also managed the Tyneside outfit for a brief period in 2009, explained that Pardew has been undermined following the appointment of Kinnear.
"It’s no way to treat a man who 12 months ago was enjoying the fact he had been voted Manager of the Year for guiding Newcastle to fifth place in the Premier League", Shearer was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"His silence on the appointment of Kinnear himself over recent days said it all. But what could he say?
"He is in such an intolerable position. He can’t come out and slaughter his employers but at the same time he can’t agree with a situation which no manager would find comfortable.”
Club managing director Derek Llambias resigned from his post yesterday, soon after the appointment of Kinnear.
