Bacary Sagna has sought to play down increasing talk over a summer departure from Arsenal, despite the fact that he has still not signed a new contract with the Gunners.

The France right-back’s current deal with Arsenal expires next summer and he has been strongly linked with a return to Ligue 1.

Indeed, Sagna has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco of late.

But the defender has not decided to call time on his Emirates Stadium spell yet.

"We are still talking about a new contract", he told Gulf News.

"I never said that I want to leave the club, but journalists are happy to speculate about that because I only have one year left on my contract.

"The fact is that I am still an Arsenal player and I am looking forward to next season."

Sagna joined the Gunners in 2007 from Auxerre.

He has won 34 caps at international level for France so far.
