Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has reached an agreement with Turkish side Kasimpasa to pen a three-year contract.

The Dutch international is currently not bound to any club, following the expiry of his season-long contract with Dutch giants Ajax – with whom he lifted the Eredivisie trophy last season.

He signed for the Amsterdammers from Hoffenheim last summer.

"We have reached an agreement with Babel on everything. He shall sign a three-year contract”, Oguz Erkan, an executive of the Turkish club, told Radyospor.

No transfer fee will be involved in the deal, as Babel is currently a free agent.

The 26-year-old played for Liverpool between 2007 and 2011. He arrived at Anfield from his youth club Ajax in the summer of 2007.

He was also recognised as Liverpool’s Young Player of the Season in 2007/08.

Babel has also earned 42 caps for his national team, and has scored five times. He was also part of the Dutch squad in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where the Oranje finished as runners-up.

Babel clocked up 22 appearances with the Lancers last season, scoring five times and assisting six times.

Meanwhile, Kasimpasa finished sixth in the Turkish Super Lig last season, missing out on the European places.
