Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has explained he is not concerned about competition from Belgian shot-stopper Simon Mignolet and insists that all top teams need to have a number of options.
The Reds are moving to tie up the capture of Mignolet from Sunderland and should conclude the deal over the course of the next week.
Mignolet’s arrival has instantly been seen as a challenge to established number 1 Reina, with even talk that he could leave Anfield.
But Reina himself does not see his situation like that.

"It [my situation] hasn’t changed a bit, I think I’ve said it many times, but I am very comfortable and very happy in Liverpool", he said at a press conference in Brazil, where he is competing in the Confederations Cup for Spain.
"Every teams needs its competition and when it is a positive and a positive one then it is more than welcome.
"So, if it [Mignolet’s transfer] is finally done, I just welcome him a lot and if he needs anything I am here."
Mignolet will not be keen on playing second fiddle to Reina next season, with the 2014 World Cup on the cards with Belgium.
The shot-stopper is fighting with Thibaut Courtois for the number 1 spot in Marc Wilmots’ team.
