English Premier League giants Chelsea have announced that midfielder George Saville is set to join League One side Brentford on loan until 5th January.

The 20-year-old, who joined the club’s youth academy in 2004, spent a brief loan spell at Championship side Millwall last season, and made his debut for the Lions against Yorkshire giants Leeds United in March.

Saville clocked up a total of 18 appearances in all competitions last season, nodding in two goals and assisting once.

The starlet schemer made 17 appearances for the Blues’ second string side during 2011/12, with a further 15 appearances with the club’s Under-21 side last season.

He was also part of Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup campaign in 2010, as well as part of the national reserve team, that won the league in the following year.

Saville signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the club in January last year and his new contract at Stamford Bridge runs until June 2015.

Brentford finished third in League One in the 2012/13 season, but they failed to clinch promotion, after being defeated by Swindon Town in the playoff semi-final.
