Shakhtar Donetsk are preparing for life after Liverpool-chased Henrikh Mkhitaryan, by training their sights on Brazilian Fred from SC Internacional, with the player poised for a medical.
The Brazilian Serie A club, who are currently in mid-table, have seen Fred rise from the youth ranks to make 33 league appearances for them, with seven goals.
It has attracted attention from Europe, and Shakhtar Donetsk appear to have their man, who flew out yesterday bound for the Ukraine.
A statement on the Brazilian club’s site read: "The Internacional athlete Fred has been authorised to travel to the Ukraine.

"The player embarked late on Monday, and should arrive tomorrow for medical examinations at Shakhtar Donetsk."
Midfielder Mkhitaryan, meanwhile, has been subject to heavy interest from Liverpool, who are on the hunt for further summer signings.
The Anfield club appear ready to part with £20m for his services, after a season that saw him emerge as the leading scorer for both his club and the league.
However, Shakhtar Donetsk general manager Sergei Palkin has thus far not confirmed any offers from Liverpool, with the Ukrainian champions keen to gain the maximum value out of their star asset, with £20m believed to be his buy-out clause.
Precedence for the latter is available in the fact that Shakhtar Donetsk have seen Fernandinho depart for Manchester City for £30m, with Razvan Rat also moving to greener pastures in West Ham.
