Serie A side Napoli are deemed close to signing Real Madrid right winger Jose Callejon, with the Italian side having already held talks with the player’s agent.
Callejon made a total 30 league appearances for Los Blancos during the 2012/13 campaign under then-manager Jose Mourinho. In that span of time, he was able to score three goals as well as create six assists.
While such a performance may not prove to be a surefire head-turner, new Napoli head coach Rafael Benitez is still keen to sign his 26-year-old compatriot, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Indeed, Napoli have already made an approach to Callejon’s agent, Manuel Garcia, in the hope that a contract can be agreed upon soon.

As it stands, Real Madrid have not made any announcements regarding their intention to sell or retain the winger, especially with new boss Carlo Ancelotti still fresh from the appointment hangover.
Callejon has an existing contract with Real Madrid that will see him locked down at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2016.
