Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven have been in touch with deposed Premier League champions Manchester City over the situation of Karim Rekik, according to the Algemeen Dagblad.
The 18-year-old, who can play both in the defence as well as in the midfield, has been capped by the Netherlands Under-19s.
Rekik, who signed for the Manchester based club in 2011 from Feyenoord, has had loan spells with other English sides such as Portsmouth in 2012 and Blackburn Rovers in 2013.
PSV manager and former Netherlands international Phillip Cocu wants to inject young talents into his squad next season and feels Rekik is of the same class as the promoted players from the youth academy at the club.
