Roma are closing in on the signing of Julio Cesar from QPR, according to Tutto Mercato.
The custodian is currently on international duty with Brazil at the Confederations Cup and saved a penalty in the Selecao’s 2-1 win over Uruguay in their semi-final clash last night.
At club level though all is not going so smoothly for Cesar.
The Brazilian joined QPR last summer from Serie A giants Inter and, despite earning plaudits for his performances between the sticks in the Premier League, promptly saw his new club relegated.

And with the 2014 World Cup on the agenda, Cesar has admitted he must be playing at the highest level.
He has been strongly linked with Arsenal, to the extent that QPR boss Harry Redknapp told the Gunners to ready their chequebook if they want to sign the shot-stopper.
But Roma may have reacted quickest.
Now the Giallorossi, who recently appointed Rudi Garcia as their new coach, are closing in on securing Cesar’s signature in good time for 2013/14.
