Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has taken a leaf out of his coaching-licence education to urge his team-mates to make new manager David Moyes’ job easier next season.
Giggs is currently undertaking the UEFA Pro Licence course, en route to planning for his life after football, in an 18-month-long endeavour that his former club team-mates Gary Neville and Paul Ince are also part of.
And Giggs, who spent 22 years working under Sir Alex Ferguson, is hoping Moyes will be able to ease himself in to the club’s set-up, provided the players behave themselves.
"Working under a new manager is a challenge", he told FATV. "I always want challenges. And there are great players at the club who just want to lead. So everything’s in place for [Moyes] to carry on.

"The culture comes from the top, from the manager [Ferguson] who retired last year. [But] the players manage the dressing room, which is important.
"The manager doesn’t want to be dealing with little problems in the changing room all the time. I think it’s important that you’re self-disciplined in the changing room and that the standards are set.
"You have to make sure you stand by those, both on and off the pitch, with regards training, looking after yourself and making sure you get the right rest to ensure you produce the best football."
Giggs is also hoping his former manager can be relied upon to help him continue his footballing journey, this time in a coaching role.
The Welshman is hoping to become one of only a few players to have received their licecnces whilst still playing, and unsurprisingly wants Ferguson’s opinion on a few things.
"Obviously, I’d be stupid not to pick up on bits that I’ve learned from the manager", he added. "I’ve got to start thinking that it’s near the end and what I’m going to do afterwards.
"It’s exciting for me. I’ve been playing for twenty-odd years and it’s a new chapter in my life. I want to do well and I want to make a success of it as I did as a player."
