Swansea City have pounced to snap up centre-back Jordi Amat from La Liga club Espanyol.
The defender has penned a four-year deal at the Liberty Stadium and has cost last season’s League Cup winners a fee of £2.5m.
The 21-year-old spent last season away from Espanyol on loan with Rayo Vallecano, making 27 appearances for the club and impressing.
Amat has long been tipped for a bright future and the 21-year-old has represented Spain at various levels, from Under-16s to Under-21s.

The defender started his career with Espanyol, rising through the club’s youth ranks to eventually play for the senior side.
He has won two caps for Catalunya.
