Everton CEO Robert Elstone has admitted that there will be changes to the club’s backroom staff in the coming days as part of a new set-up following the appointment of Roberto Martinez as manager.

Regardless, Elstone was quick to sincerely thank beforehand the people that will be leaving the club soon, those who worked "phenomenally hard", for the contributions they have made.

“For Roberto to bring in his team is absolutely what he wants to do, and we want to support him on it. We are working hard to do that and I’m hoping in the near future that Roberto will have his team", Elstone told the club’s official site.

"He is also integrating into a very strong, solid team that already exists here. There is a real spirit at Finch Farm and lot of experience. I know he will want to retain that Everton spirit but yes, he does want his own support team around him", the Everton CEO further explained.

Notable members of Everton’s current backroom staff include the likes of Under-21s manager Alan Stubbs, first team manager Jimmy Lumsden and assistant manager Steve Round – all of whom served with former boss David Moyes. Lumsden, for his part, was there with Moyes since the two worked in the dugout at Preston North End.

For his part, Elstone knows the contribution these people have made for Everton and would like to thank them for it.

"There are a lot of people who have worked phenomenally hard and one of the things I said at the general meeting was that it was a team effort", the CEO said.

Elstone adds: "Whoever ultimately moves on to new pastures goes with our best wishes and our thanks for all their contribution they have made to Everton Football Club."
