Brazil goal-poacher Fred has insisted that he is very happy at current club Fluminense, and only a good offer could lure him away from the Rio de Janeiro outfit.

Manchester City – 2011/12 English Premier League winners – have been linked with the former Lyon striker, who scored five times in the recently concluded FIFA Confederations Cup.

The 29-year-old also made his mark in the final of the competition against Spain, after he scored twice in the match at the Maracana Stadium, as the Selecao lifted their third successive Confederations Cup.

Fred, who now has a tally of 16 goals out of 29 appearances for his national side, has explained that he will only leave Fluminense if there is a good offer for him.

Fred – who is also the club skipper – has been with the Brazilian outfit since 2009. He won the Brasileiro with the club in 2010 and 2012.

Rodrigo Caetano, Fluminense sporting director, also insisted that the striker is very happy at the club, and the side are happy to stick with him.

“Fred has a contract with Fluminense, and he is very happy at the club and we are very pleased with him”, Caetano said.
