Merseyside giants Liverpool have confirmed the signing of ex-Manchester City defender Kolo Toure on a free transfer, with the Ivorian saying that the Anfield outfit are "massive".
Toure, 32, saw himself frozen out of the first team at Manchester City last season, with the centre-back making only a total 18 appearances in all competitions.
The lack of first-team football proved to be the sign of things to come for Toure, whose contract with the Etihad stadium outfit officially expired three days ago.
With his move to Anfield done and dusted, Toure could not conceal his delight, telling Liverpool’s official site: "This means a lot to me. Firstly, I’m joining one of the best clubs in England.

"When I left City it was important for me to stay in England because it’s the best league – and to join Liverpool is massive for me.
"I chose Liverpool because of the history and because of the spirit of the team and the people here", Toure concluded.
