Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen have let it be known they class Lars Bender as "untransferrable" following a bid for the 24-year-old from Arsenal.
The Gunners waded in with an offer of €23m for Bender, hoping to snatch the midfielder from the BayArena this summer.
But that bid met with short shrift from the Bundesliga club and, according to German daily Express, Leverkusen have let Arsenal know that they will, under no circumstances, sell the player this summer.
It was the second time that Arsenal have tried to buy Bender.

However, flush with cash from the sale of Andre Schurrle to Chelsea earlier this summer, Leverkusen are under no pressure to sell and are instead focusing on bringing in players rather than bidding them farewell.
And sporting director Rudi Voller has told the fans to expect new faces and not to be concerned.
"There will be something else, don’t worry", he said.
