Rangers chief operating officer Craig Mather has explained that manager Ally McCoist may have to sell certain players to adhere to the budget at the club.
The Gers have snapped up seven players this summer, and the manager is still keen to recruit new faces in order to strengthen the squad prior to the start of the 2013/14 season, when the Ibrox giants will play in the Scottish Second Division.
Mather has insisted that there is a requirement to stay within the budget of the club, and to achieve that, certain players have to move on.
The Light Blues have released the likes of Carlos Bocanegra, Dorin Goian, Neil Alexander and Francisco Sandaza this summer, in order to balance the financial situation. However, Mather admits more players could be heading out.

“More of the squad could be moving on. There’s potential for that, I’m not going to sit here and hide it”, the chief executive told Rangers TV.
“Ally has made no secret of the fact he’d like to make one or two more signings if possible and in principle I have no problem with that.
“We do have to balance the books though and look at it accordingly. It would be good for the stability of the club if we can get a couple more moved on as well.”
The players bought to the club this summer can only become part of the side once a transfer embargo imposed on the club is lifted on 1st September.
In the meantime, Rangers can play them as trialists.
