Hamburg have ousted striker Marcus Berg from their first team training sessions, less than a month after asking him to find a new club.
Berg was one of three players told to find pastures new for next season, as the club’s new sporting director Oliver Kreuzer began a sea of change for Hamburg.
With a fair few arrivals in the pipeline at Hamburg, Berg, Gojko Kacar and Robert Tesche were told of the decision to find fresh employment, and it appears Berg has been the first to face the music.
Having spent four years at Hamburg, the Swede was informed he would not be required to attend first team training, a decision he described as "amateurish".

"I read in the newspaper that I was not allowed to train with the first team and that makes me unhappy", Berg told the Hamburger Abentblatt.
"That’s quite amateurish from HSV, but that’s the football world for you."
Berg had joined Hamburg from Dutch club FC Groningen in 2009 and, around a year’s loan at PSV Eindhoven, has clocked 71 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
Kreuzer, who has been the media image of Hamburg’s transfer-window dealings in the past several weeks, added: "I can well imagine the disappointment.
"But we had notified the player’s agent of the decision well in advance."
