Newly-appointed Paris Saint-Germain head coach Laurent Blanc has lavished praise on highly-chased Napoli centre-forward Edinson Cavani, fuelling further speculation on the Uruguayan’s future.

A host of top clubs are hot on Cavani’s trail, with the likes of Europa League champions Chelsea, La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid as well as FA Cup finalists Manchester City all interested.

Indeed, the intense glare of the media on Cavani has proven to be too much for the Uruguayan goalscorer, who blasted reporters over their incessant questioning in a press conference.

Despite the public tongue-lashing, it is apparent that talk over Cavani is not going away. And Blanc has admnitted he would love to see the Napoli striker at the Parc des Princes.

"Cavani – I love this player", Blanc told French radio station RMC.

"I’ve seen him play several times with Napoli and then with the Uruguayan national team. Should he be part of my team, I would be very happy", the French tactician added.

Cavani made a total 43 appearances for Napoli last season, scoring an awe-inspiring tally of 38 goals along the way.
