Manchester United right-back Rafael has highlighted the importance of a good pre-season to cement his place in the manager’s plans while enjoying "different things" as well.
Rafael, 22, made strides towards stardom last season, when he capped his total 37 appearances for the Old Trafford club with three scintillating goals that were considered contenders for the Premier League goal of the season.
And while the young Brazilian right-back made an impression in the mind of Sir Alex Ferguson, the 22-year-old will have to do it all over again as he plays under new management in the form of David Moyes come the new season.
"The pre-season tours are a big part of preparation work for the new season", Rafael told hus club’s official site.

"If you play well, you can put a thought in the manager’s mind and maybe change his mind if you perhaps weren’t in his plans for the first few games", the defender added.
With Manchester United set to travel for their "Tour 2013" with stops from Japan to Stockholm, Rafael could not help but be delighted by the propsect.
"Not only are we able to put in some hard work on the training pitch when we’re on tour, it’s good to see different cultures and different things.
"It’s great that we’re able to visit countries across the world because we have so many fans. We are a big club and we have supporters everywhere and it’s good for us to go on tour and see them", Rafael concluded.
