Big-spending Monaco are tracking Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio, according to French daily L’Equipe.
It is believed that Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, has recommended his client to the principality outfit. The Portuguese agent has played an instrumental role in helping the club secure the signatures of Colombian hotshot Radamel Falcao, as well as Portuguese trio Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez and former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho.
Patricio, 25, started his youth career with Sporting Lisbon in 1999, and subsequently broke into the first team in 2006. The Portugal international won the Portuguese Cup two times with the Lions in 2006/07 and 2007/08.
The custodian has a contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade until June 2018.
