Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has stoked speculation over the future of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney by admitting that the Englishman would "fit well" at the Camp Nou.
Rooney’s future at Old Trafford has been thrown into doubt after then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that the striker has asked for a move away from the Premier League champions.
Since then, the transfer chatter about Rooney has picked up, with him being linked to various clubs, including rivals Arsenal and Chelsea – despite the Old Trafford outfit insisting they will not be engaging in talks to sell their star striker.
Apart from London outfits, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with interest in the English international, while Barcelona are have been mooted to be pondering a swoop for the unsettled centre-forward.

"He would fit well at Barcelona", Pique was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.
"Rooney can play multiple positions. In the centre of attack he is the best, but on the left and right he plays fine. He is versatile, strong, fast and has a great technique", the Barcelona defender added.
Rooney’s contract with Manchester United is due to expire come the end of the 2014/15 season.
