Shakhtar Donetsk general director Sergei Palkin has not attempted to disguise the club’s displeasure at the actions of midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, insisting that the Donbass Arena outfit will definitely fine the 24-year-old.
Mkhitaryan has skipped Shakhtar Donetsk’s pre-season training in the hope of forcing a move away from the club. Liverpool are believed to be the Armenian’s first choice option, though there is also interest from Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur.
Palkin has explained that, while there is no formal release clause in the player’s contract, he can break the deal if he pays the club $30m dollars.
Should Mkhitaryan not do that, Shakhtar Donetsk will want around €30m for a sale through the usual channels.

But in the meantime, Mkhitaryan is looking at a fine.
"Of course, Mkhitaryan will be punished!", blasted Palkin to Football UA.
"He did not show up at our training camp and his contract has spelled out all the penalties.
"So, for us, it is not a problem."
Palkin also pointed out that only Borussia Dortmund have made a formal offer for Mkhitaryan, with Liverpool and Tottenham not having submitted bids, despite all the transfer chatter.
