Serie A stalwarts Inter Milan are pondering a bid for Manchester City’s out-of-favour right-back Micah Richards, the player’s Italian representative has confirmed.

Richards, 25, was almost absent from the Manchester City first team for entire 2012/13 campaign, having made only a total eight appearances for the club in all competitions, with a knee injury playing its part.

With the Englishman well aware of the competition at the Etihad Stadium for next season, Inter are willing to provide Richards with an exit ticket.

"I know there is some interest from Inter for the player", Richards’ agent within Italy, Dario Canovi, told Tutto Mercato.

"Of course, contacts between the teams are things that are between them, so we may never know if they have talked. But Inter also have a contact with Alexander Livac [Richards’ agent in Britain] and have talked to him by phone and said there would be a meeting.

"I also had a call with Inter, but as of yet, nothing is concrete", Canovi concluded.

Richards’ contract with Manchester City expires in 2015.
