Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has joined the Rossoneri’s rivals Fiorentina, and the 36-year-old has penned a one-year deal with the club.

“ACF Fiorentina have completed the signing of midfielder Massimo Ambrosini on a permanent contract. The former Italy midfielder has put pen to paper on a one-year deal until 30th June 2014”, a statement from the club read.

The former Milan skipper won four Serie A titles, two Champions League crowns, one Italian Cup, as well as a FIFA Club World Cup during his time with the Rossoneri between 1995 and 2013.

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani confirmed last month that the Italian would make his exit from San Siro after the expiry of his contract with the club.
