Rangers manager Ally McCoist has explained that he is looking forward to travelling north with the club for their pre-season friendlies.
The Gers go head to head with Highland League outfit Brora and Scottish Third Division side Elgin City on Sunday and Wednesday respectively.
The games will provide McCoist the chance to include six out of his seven summer signings as part of the 23-man squad. Only midfielder Arnold Peralta, who was snapped up by the Gers on a four-year deal, will not be a part of the group as he is yet to arrive in Scotland.
The Light Blues have the option of featuring goalkeeper Cammy Bell, defenders Richard Foster and Steven Smith, midfielder Nicky Law, as well as forwards Jon Daly and Nicky Clark – who will travel with the rest of the squad for the friendlies.

“Hopefully the squad we take can do well up north and it’s really important to be taking the boys away for a few days. We’re looking forward to it”, McCoist told his club’s official site.
“We are lucky in that we have the best facility in the country in the form of Murray Park. It’s fantastic and we are blessed to have it.
“At the same time, it can be extremely beneficial to get the players away from their own environment where they are all together."
The manager also feels that the pre-season friendlies will increase the familiarity among the players, and allow them to bond well.
“They will get a chance to get to know each other away from the football park as well when we’re in Brora and that’s a big thing.”
“We’ve got a few new faces in the group who have still to get to know each other and their new team-mates.”
The Ibrox giants also play a pre-season friendly against League One outfit Bristol City on 13th July.
