Wigan Athletic signing Scott Carson has expressed his belief that his new club have what it takes to get back to the Premier League at the first ask.
The veteran English goalkeeper, who had stints with the likes of Leeds United, Liverpool, and West Bromwich Albion, signed on for Wigan from Super Lig outfit Bursapor on a two-year contract.
"Everyone talks about how tough the league is and they’re right, you have to be at your best if you’re going to come out on top and with a lot of games to play it’s going to be really demanding on us this year", Carson told Wigan’s official site.
"But looking at the squad I’m sure we’ve got the players and the ability to get back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, and that’s the aim", the goalkeeper added.

With the likes of Ali Al-Habsi and Mike Pollitt in the squad, Carson also voiced his expectations of a healthy competition for a spot between the sticks and is relishing such a challenge.
"There are some quality goalkeepers at the club already, and to be honest wherever you go nowadays you’re always going to find tough competition at a club, especially in the goalkeeper department.
"Overall there are many changes happening here at the moment, but coming into a squad with a new look to it is exciting", Carson concluded.
