New Chelsea signing Marco van Ginkel has explained that Jose Mourinho has promised he will be involved with the first team at Stamford Bridge next season.
Van Ginkel completed a switch to Chelsea from Vitesse yesterday, penning a five-year contract with last season’s Europa League winners.
The 20-year-old’s main concern over joining Chelsea has been exactly how much playing time he will receive at the club.
Van Ginkel has seen starlets such as Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku land at Stamford Bridge only to be shipped out on loan, with first team chances at a premium.

But the Holland Under-21 star has received assurances from Mourinho that this will not be his fate.
"[Mourinho] has full confidence in me and wants me to take it step by step, fitting into the first team", Van Ginkel said through his agent Sport Promotion.
"He wants to know nothing about loaning me", he added.
Van Ginkel will now join Chelsea on their pre-season tour of Asia, followed by a trip to North America, in preparation for the 2013/14 campaign.
