Napoli are considering a move to sign QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar, according to Sky Italia.

Cesar is expected to return to Italy, having left Serie A 12 months ago to join QPR, in order to boost his chances of starting between the sticks for Brazil at the 2014 World Cup.

QPR suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, leading the club to admit defeat in their hopes of keeping the former Inter shot-stopper.

Now Napoli are keen, with coach Rafael Benitez having authorised his side to make enquiries.

Roma, which has also been a potential destination for Cesar, have asked Napoli about signing goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.

And while Napoli are prepared to allow the 36-year-old to move to the Italian capital, they want to have a replacement lined up.

Also under consideration by the side that finished second in Serie A last season is Palermo goalkeeper Stefan Sorrentino.
