Sunderland have reached an agreement with AZ Alkmaar over striker Jozy Altidore, but the player must still agree personal terms with the Black Cats.
According to multiple Dutch media outlets, AZ have agreed to sell the American to Sunderland and are now waiting for the striker to seal a switch to England.
The 23-year-old joined AZ in the summer of 2011 and has been a big hit at the Eredivisie outfit.
In his first season in Holland, the American found the back of the net 16 times in 34 Eredivisie games.

He increased his potency this season, managing to score 23 times in 33 Dutch top flight matches.
Altidore has played in England before, turning out for Hull City in the 2009/10 campaign, on loan from Spanish outfit Villarreal.
He also has spells with Xerez and Bursaspor within European football.
