Centre-back Alex has explained he would like to stay with Paris Saint-Germain for next season, but insists the decision over whether that is the case lies squarely with the French giants.

Alex joined PSG from English outfit Chelsea in January 2012 and helped the club to the Ligue 1 title last season, along with reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

However, competition for a first team spot is tough at the Parc des Princes – but Alex wants to stay.

"I have not spoken to the club, but I want to stay", Alex told L’Equipe.
