Wealthy Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala are pushing hard to sign Nani from Manchester United and have even held talks with the winger's representatives.

Nani's future at Old Trafford is in doubt as he has just one more year left on his contract and has not so far put pen to paper on an extension.

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insisted that the Portuguese winger is not for sale, however the view of new boss David Moyes is unclear.

And, while there is work to do from Anzhi's end, the signs are thought to be promising for the club.

According to Russian daily Izvestia, talks have already been held between the player's representatives and the Dagestan club, with Nani asking for between €8m and €9m per year.

Anzhi have countered with a proposal of €6m per year, with various bonuses included to potentially take that higher.

The Russian side now also boast former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen in their ranks, with the Dutchman having joined up this summer – something which could further convince Nani to make the move.

Manchester United are believed to want around €15m for the winger, a figure Anzhi have indicated they will have little trouble paying.
