Thibaut Courtois has explained he is delighted to be booked in to spend the 2013/14 season with Atletico Madrid and is targeting more silverware.

The Belgian goalkeeper is under contract to English giants Chelsea, but spent the 2011/12 and 2012/13 campaigns on loan at the Vicente Calderon.

Chelsea have agreed to let Courtois spend another year with Diego Simeone’s men and the custodian struggled to hide his delight when starting pre-season training with the club.

"I have to say that I’m really happy to be playing with Atletico Madrid again this season. It was my desire to remain here", the Belgian told reporters.

And Courtois, who has won a Europa League, Copa del Rey and European Super Cup with Atletico Madrid, is aiming for more success.

"After winning the Copa del Rey in June, we have the aim of winning another trophy this season.

"The [Spanish] Super Cup offers us a great opportunity to win another one."

Courtois can also look forward to Champions League football with Atletico Madrid this season, after the side finished third in La Liga last year.
