Former Arsenal defender Sylvinho has been appointed as the new assistant manager at Brazilian giants Corinthians – and he could not be happier.
The 39-year-old hung up his boots in 2010, calling time on a career which included stints at Corinthians, Arsenal, Celta Vigo, Barcelona and Manchester City.
Sylvinho has already made the step into coaching, serving with Cruzeiro and Sport Recife, though in switching to Corinthians he is returning to the club at which he started his career and holds close to his heart.
"I’m really happy, it’s always good to come home", the ex-left-back told Corinthians’ official site.
