Chelsea have loaned Patrick van Aanholt to Dutch side Vitesse for a further season, while the Eredivisie outfit could also be set to bag another Blues starlet in Nathan Ake.

Vitesse have confirmed the capture of Van Aanholt, who also spent last season on loan at the club, helping them to a fourth place finish in the Dutch top flight.

Indeed, Van Aanholt first joined Vitesse in January 2012, although he struggled to secure regular first team football under then-boss John van den Brom.

The left-back featured consistently last season and will hopeful of repeating that for 2013/14.

And he could be joined by another Chelsea player in Ake, in whom Vitesse hold an interest.

The 18-year-old defender joined Chelsea from Dutch side Feyenoord in 2011.

Ake clocked up three appearances in the Premier League last season for the Europa League winners and may find more first team opportunities in 2013/14 back in his native Holland.
