Ajax coach Frank de Boer is looking forward to making full use of Bojan Krkic’s versatilty as the Barcelona striker continues his footballing education with a third loan spell in four years.

Krkic has been taken on loan by Ajax for a season, with the option of extending that by a year as the Spain international has already spent temporary spells with AS Roma and AC Milan previously.

He graduated from the Barcelona reserves to the senior side in 2007, and has already made 163 appearances for the Spanish champions with 41 goals.

And former Barcelona man De Boer is excited at the prospect of the talented 22-year-old giving his side one of several attacking options.

"He has a unique style of play, can create goals and has a lot of threat in his game", De Boer told his club’s official site. "I think we’re mainly going to use him on the right wing but he is also good with his feet from other positions.

"With his arrival, we have now proven that we have many alternatives up front with the likes of [Kolbeinn] Sigthorsson, [Danny] Hoesen, [Viktor] Fischer, [Derek] Boerrigter and Lucas Andersson."

Krkic was denied a permanent move to AC Milan at the end of his loan spell, but Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven were both reported to be interested in purchasing the starlet this summer.
