Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco are believed to be leading the chase for out-of-favour Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao.

Los Blancos are ready to cash in on the Portuguese and have slapped an asking price of €15m on his head; a significant loss from the €30m paid to Benfica to sign Coentrao in the summer of 2011.

According to Spanish daily El Confidencial, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen on the 25-year-old and may move to take his compatriot to White Hart Lane.

Monaco are another option, with the principality side thought to be on the lookout for another left-back and boasting the financial means to afford Coentrao.

The 25-year-old did not have the smoothest of seasons in Spain last year and was criticised for arriving late at training on a number of occasions.

Nevertheless, Coentrao remains highly rated and helped Los Blancos to win La Liga in his first season at the club.

At international level he has won 36 caps for Portugal.
