Atletico Mineiro midfielder Bernard is keeping the Copa Libertadores final against Olimpia as a priority instead of the speculation surrounding his potential move to Arsenal.

Yesterday saw reports emerge that Bernard’s transfer to the London club could be confirmed as early as Friday, despite interest in the player coming from Tottenham Hotspur as well.

It had been surmised that Bernard would be moving for an annual salary of €3m, but the 20-year-old is not interested in much beyond tomorrow’s second-leg clash.

"In a week so important I do not wanna talk about [transfers]", Bernard told a press conference yesterday. "I’m focused on the game.

"I do not want to be rude or ignorant before a match as decisive as this, but my entire focus is on the game. What will happen to me after Wednesday I do not know."

Atletico will be up against the odds tomorrow when they face Olimpia, as the Paraguayan side hold a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Bernard’s performances for his club saw an elevation to the Brazil squad for the Confederations Cup, and the youngster even managed two substitute appearances.

He has gained slightly more game time in the Copa Libertadores, having played 10 times and scoring four goals.
