Liverpool defensive midfielder Conor Coady has joined Sheffield United on a loan deal, the Premier League club have confirmed.

The 20-year-old will be with the League One outfit until January.



Blades boss David Weir, who is a long time admirer of Coady, believes that the youngster is a good addition to his squad.

He told the club’s official site: "I’ve been aware of Conor’s talents for a long time, through his development with Liverpool and England and he is a great prospect.

"He will add competition for places in the midfield and will be an asset for us."

Coady is the sixth player to join Sheffield United this summer following the arrivals of Febian Brandy, Stephen McGinn, Sean McGinty, Jasper Johns and Lyle Taylor.

The midfielder is a product of Liverpool’s youth set-up and made his senior debut for the Reds on 8th November 2012, in a Europa League group stage match against Anzhi Makhachkala.

He made his Premier League debut in an away clash against Fulham, which Liverpool won 3-1 on 12th May 2013.

Coady captained England at the recent Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.
